In Kinship Performance Scores

In Kinship is an arts-based call to environmental stewardship that asks: If we view the river and its non-human populations as both characters and participants in our dialogue, how might it help us strategically care for the needs of an entire ecosystem?

In May of 2015, Open Waters artists Jennie Hahn and Cory Tamler spent three days observing fisheries biologists from the Maine Department of Marine Resources during the spring migrations of several fish species. The scores below were written in response.

How do you hold hands with a fish? How do you walk with a fish? Figure it out.
